June indicated a 28% drop in @customsborder enforcement actions along the #SouthwestBorder since May, from 144,278 to 104,344. This year’s decline in apprehensions from May to June outpaces last year’s decline by 11%.

Today the Munro will offload more 39,000 pounds of cocaine and 933 pounds of marijuana worth a combined estimated $569 million seized in 14 separate drug vessel smuggling interdictions between May and July.

In response to the overwhelming numbers of migrants being processed by @customsborder , numerous temporary processing soft-sided facilities have been built along the southern border to ensure access to medical care, food, water and hygiene products for migrants. These facilities also allow CBP to better screen people coming into the country so that dangerous criminals aren’t allowed to enter.

@FEMA , @USCG , @customsborder and other DHS agencies are mobilized in the Bahamas and the US southeastern coast in response to Hurricane #Dorian. DHS’s ongoing preparation and recovery efforts will continue to work with state and local agencies to support those in the storm’s path.
Ensuring attacks like those of September 11, 2001 never happen again is DHS’s most essential mission. Today, we remember those lost on that day and remind ourselves of our responsibility to secure the homeland.

President Trump and Acting Secretary McAleenan toured Otay Mesa's new primary and secondary border wall yesterday near San Diego. The wall along the southern border is another critical step toward better securing our country, upholding our laws, and keeping our communities safe.
